Letter to John C. Calhoun, [manuscript] 1821 April 14.

Hagner writes to Secretary of War Calhoun in response to a letter sent by Thomas Jefferson to the Secretary of the Treasury. Hagner states that "suspended items in the account of the State of Virginia ... amount to $11,498.07." There is no additional funding available for Virginia, because it has not been appropriated by Congress.
